For Immediate Release
(Rap Newswire) August 30, 2009 - Diving further into the battle of spiritual
warfare, Hostyle Gospel’s sophomore release, “Immortal Combat” is the righteous
weapon this generation so desperately needs. With vivid transparency, this
album confronts struggles, sin and Satan, providing ammunition for the
fight of faith.
With a more varied approach than previous compilations, “Immortal Combat”
is flavored with techno, rap and a little R&B. “We continually develop
with each song we write – reaching for a fresh sound every time,“ group
member, Big Job (Fontaine Pizza), explains. “We want our music to appeal
not only to people in America but across the globe.”
Lyrics that resonate with the challenges of faith are mixed with more
personal glimpses into the lives of the group members, “The songs are stories
- of fathers, parents who took a bad road, adults who are struggling with
their family life, “says member King Soloman (Demetrius Morton) “This album
speaks more on the spiritual perspective of real-life, everyday situations
and having the confidence to live in and under the power and authority
of Christ.” The group hopes that by relating to daily temptations, people
will turn to Christ as a source of strength through trying situations.
“We are incorporating more of a praise and worship experience with the
creation as well as the performance of the new album. We really just want
people to think about God when they hear our music, just as everyone in
the group has grown spiritually and musically from this project.” Proverb
(Ray Glass), describes, “This is the first opportunity for some of our
group members to contribute so much to the album - It is a chance for everyone
to use their talents.” The talent contribution extends as far as Camp Liberation
and Redemption, leaders in the Christian Hip Hop world.
The album is one of many new developments the group has made over the
last few months. In March, the group hosted their first youth conference,
“Order Your Steps,” a free event open that welcomed youth to come find
an identity in Christ. The Hostyle Gospel website recently received a massive
revision, offering more information on the group’s purpose and how to get
involved with the ministry. “The ministry is growing,” says Pizza, “Christian
hip hop is something not a lot of people are doing, but a lot of people
are benefiting from. We want, as our ministry grows, to be able to reach
out and impact more and more lives for Christ.” For more information about
