Rap Sensation Proves He Has Staying Power after Departure From Former Label
Los Angeles, CA – (Rap Newswire) September 24, 2008 – Cuban hip hop
superstar and Miami native Pitbull is back on the charts with his latest
creation, the infectious new single, "Krazy," featuring Lil Jon.
The up tempo track is Pitbull's first offering since his deal with digital
powerhouse The Orchard, which followed The Orchard buying his former label
TVT Records -- giving Pitbull a broader platform to realize his entrepreneurial
and artistic vision. With Lil Jon featured and co-producing the track,
it proves these former label mates still have what it takes to get the
clubs going. "Krazy" will officially be released on September 30th through
Pitbull's label, Mr. 305, in conjunction with Famous Artist Music and The
Orchard.
Pitbull's ability to combine his Latin roots with an urban sound verifies
that he has truly carved out his own niche. Now, finally off of his
former label and acting as a free agent, Pitbull has the ability to take
his music to an even higher level. "I am excited about my new single,"
says Pitbull. "I wanted to show my fans that Lil Jon and I are still
rocking after the drama with our former label. Now that I am emancipated,
I cannot wait to give the fans more of what I have in store, so ya'll better
be ready!"
"Krazy" follows the excitement of Pitbull's last back to back hit singles,
"Go Girl," featuring Trina and Young Boss and "The Anthem" featuring Lil
Jon. With the catchy chorus and all around fun vibe, fans are getting
a small taste of what they can expect from Pitbull's upcoming album due
in early 2009. The accompanying video, directed by David Rousseau, features
cameos by fellow rappers Rick Ross, Fat Joe and Hurricane Chris.
The video boasts energetic performances by both Pitbull and Lil Jon and,
shot largely on green screen, the video shines with color and animated
backgrounds. The video is set to premiere in early October.
Never one to sit still, Pitbull is working on more than just his upcoming
album. His online social networking site, PlanetPit.com, has also
recently launched. The site was created to allow Pitbull's fans to
post blogs of their own gossip, videos and music, meet new friends, create
their own network and enter into the world of Pitbull. Additionally,
he stars in his own reality series, "La Esquina," which he created and
is going into its second season, due to air in late October on Mun2.
The first season, which is currently available on DVD, was the highest
rated show on Mun2 last year. This season will cover a variety of
different topics and issues from immigration to politics in an easily digestible
way for today's youth. Pitbull is also involved in Voto Latino, a
non-partisan get-out-the-vote organization that was co-founded in 2004
by actress Rosario Dawson. His track, "Across the Waters," was included
on a Voto Latino compilation album earlier this year. Earlier this
year, Pitbull also launched the Imaginate Foundation, a non-profit organization
that provides college scholarships to first and second generation immigrants
and additionally provides art, business, and social teachings to children
of low income migrant families.
